Day 1 Get Ready!
Hello to those of you who have previously visited and/or followed along, as well as anyone new to this blog. I am so excited to start the 40 Day Prayer Challenge again and hope you will join us. I’ve been in prayer for us and in holy anticipation of our next 40 days together! We will end this prayer challenge on the day of Pentecost (Pentecost commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Twelve apostles and other followers of Jesus. Acts 2:1–31).
A huge thank you to Custer Road United Methodist Church for again hosting tonight’s simulcast and to Mark Batterson for leading us in a time of worship, teaching and prayer. We now know that we have to take the first step of faith if we want God to do something new in our lives so let’s take on this 40 day challenge together, pray to God regularly, and see irregular things happen on a regular basis! Whether you are new to prayer or looking to deepen your level of prayer, I encourage you to begin where you are.
Identify a time you will pray every day for the next 40 days. Then, pick a place you will go consistently to meet with God in prayer. Be sure this is a place you feel connected to God. Finally, identify a specific person, promise, or problem you will circle in prayer every day for the coming weeks. Keep this appointment with God every day and see what He accomplishes in and through you.
Acts 10:2 “He prayed to God regularly.”
And remember to post your comments and/or experiences each day! I’m truly looking forward to this time among friends.
